It had been a bad time. It was a time of war. The solders were helping the people, or so they said. they caused pain instead of relief, suffering instead of happiness, and fear instead of hope. They were always with their guns, in their tanks, always with an emotionless glare... They destroyed the synagogue and replaced the windows of the church from Jesus to a solder in full gear with an ak-47. They have occupied our city for 23 years. All the children were born into this, and they still know what the soldiers are doing is wrong. They do more than the adults to try and resist the armies violence. They know someday they will probably have to fight someday, so they prepare themselves for it and disguise it as harmless playing. They find a way on the rooftops and jump from roof to roof, not caring about the risk they are taking, they have have serious duels with wooden paddles, fighting as if for their lives, and because they see it in the very army they so wish to defeat, they Have ranks, the higher up you are, the more power there is under your control. They were deprived of their childhood, forced to mature earlier than humanly acceptable. Once, they came together and made a wall in front of them while they were on a road. The general told one man to start shooting them, and when he step forward to do so, the one he pointed at fell down, pulling the ones next to him down, and it looked like a wave on either side. After they all fell down, they used the initial shock for a successful escape. This is one of the more touching of their actions, and one of the most effective. Another thing they did was fight each other with excessive violence. Eventually one of the solders came and started bossing them around, and physically harmed one of them, and right after that they all jumped on him and started to beat on him. They apparently did a good job, because none of us have seen him since.
